Travel Medicine

International adventure is now easier than it’s ever been before, but it does have its risks. Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, let us help you stay healthy on your journey.

Silver Sage Travel Medicine is one of the few medical offices in Northern Nevada that stocks all the vaccines you might need. And we stay informed on outbreaks around the world, so we’re ready to educate and prepare you for your next adventure.

Travel specialist Peggy Franklin, RN is available to discuss your travel plans, make recommendations and administer appropriate vaccines. You can make an appointment by calling 775-853-9394.

An avid traveler, Dr. Andrew Pasternak is a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine (ISTM), which promotes healthy, safe and responsible travel for all people crossing international borders.

We subscribe to Shoreland Travax, the leading travel medicine resource, which monitors and updates travel health and safety information in real time. This allows us to quickly create reports customized for you and your travel plans.

You can also visit wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel for the most current information on vaccines, depending on where you’re traveling and your situation (pregnancy, chronic disease, children, etc.). Different countries have different requirements, and we can help you understand them better.

Remember that many vaccines don’t take effect immediately, so we recommend that you come in four to six weeks before your trip.

Prior to your visit, please download and fill out these forms so that we can better understand your travel plans.

Please note that insurance will not be accepted for these services. Codes can be provided if you wish to try and submit a claim directly to your payor.
